Vulkan-Eifel, Maria Martontal (Cochem), Endert Falls
Waterfall: Germany, Vulkan-Eifel, Maria Martontal (Cochem), Endert Falls
What's it like
It is a great 5 meter high, natural narrow fall, +/- 3 meter wide, between steep rocks, and curves to the left, dropping straight down, small basin at the bottom that seems to be deep enough. It's in the middle of the forest, no roads, quiet place.
Dangers: Very bad slot on the left, if you jump in there you get stuck in a 50 cms wide gorge.
Runnable lines: very right, normally the current pushes you right anyway.
Surrounding WW : Below the fall, there 's 8 km section of grade III WW to Cochem, Quit narrow and lots of fallen trees! Once in Cochem get out at the hotel Weissmuhle before you reach town, because there the river goes in tunnels.
Best time: After heavy rain or snowmelt, only in winter or very wet seasons (temperature: Coooooold).
How to get there
Take the highway A48/E44 between Koblenz and Trier, take the exit 7 Ulmen, follow direction Cochem, after a couple km's you can go left to Laubach, don't take this road, but take the next one left to Maria Martontal and Kaisersesch. This road goes down very steep, down in the valley is the Endertbach. Park the car at the bridge and walk from here. Follow the river upstream, there is a path on the right bank, you 'll see the fall after 1 km. Just upstream, there is a little wooden bridge.

Locals
On sunny days and weekends you might meet some tourists going for a walk. Lots of them walk between the little taverns that are in the old mills downstream in the valley.
