Carinthia, River Lieser, Seebachbruecke
Playpot: Austria, Carinthia, River Lieser, Seebachbruecke.
What's it like
A very surfable big hole under a bridge. In low water retentives are guaranteed, in big water it gets quite dangerous. Not recommended for absolute beginners.
The following part of about 1 km offers some great WW with big waves and holes, too. Try also the ride from Gmuend to Spittal. There are several great spots along the river (III-IV). Don't forget to get out of the river at a small house, because shortly after it there are 3 unrunnable drops!
Size at low water level: 1.3 meters; at high level: 2 meters (also done at 3 meters).
Best time: May-June and after rainfall.
How to get there
Leave the Tauernautobahn (Salzburg-Villach) at Knoten Spittal/Millstaedtersee and follow the directions to Spittal. Soon you'll cross the Lieser. The hole is right under the bridge.
