#EricJackson #Kayaking Rock Island was epic this past week with flows over 20,000 cfs, some reasonably warm weather to go with them, and a slow dropping into normal levels again. Here, at 5,500 cfs Erik Amason from Guntersville, AL came to run laps and met me for a few. I was back in time for a 4:30 meeting. The biggest slowdown was a construction traffic light around the corner on the way to the put-in. See the HUGE tree that is stuck at the lip of the "double drop" lead into the Mill Side Falls- Super obvious and going right of it isn't hard, but I am glad I scouted and didn't have to wonder if the branches blocked the line below when there wasnt' much I could do about it.
