The new Flex Drive-E is about to start shipping so I figured I'd give my thoughts on it since I have been testing the prototype and not the latest production models. Putting a motor on a kayak was not something I have always been for, but the more I fished KBF events and the smaller and lighter weight motors have gotten, I've really enjoyed using one. This new Flex Drive-E is certainly one to consider, due to how small and easy it is to use. I don't see it taking the place of paddle or pedals, but more like a mini outboard to get you to the far off places you only dreamt of going with just a paddle. Once there, you can then pick up the paddle for all the micro adjustments/movements in the area you're fishing. Thanks to my friend Roberto Briones for letting me film him for this video, and ask him some of his thoughts about the new drive. Also, thanks to Ken Morris and Clayton Haske for starring in many of the shots as well.
