Aug 30 2019Instagram I have been watching The #GreenRiverTakeOver2019 since its inception, and this year was finally able to volunteer and support such a great cause. Every year a growing group of inspiring #women gather at the #GreenRiver to honor two of their sisters who have been lost following the pursuits they loved. The event is enthusiastically supported by whitewater retailers and the local community who provide swag and services that are raffled to support #charitable funds created in honor of Shannon Christy and Maria Noakes. Photography has always been a hobby and an artistic itch that has to be scratched, but every now and then there are days when you get caught up in the moment and realize the magic that is taking place in front of your lens. Honestly, I don’t think the #GreenRiverTakeover is something that a bunch of guys would have thought of, let alone pulled off; and yet years later @laurakfarrell and @emshanblatt continue to grow this #community of talented #paddlers into a feminine force for good. I feel very honored and quite humbled to have witnessed such an empowering day from the sidelines and hope the momentum continues for years to come.
