The much-anticipated Wilderness Systems Advanced Tactical Angling Kayak (A.T.A.K.) (patent pending) is setting a new standard in the sport of kayak fishing with unprecedented versatility, stability, innovative features and a fully customizable open design. The A.T.A.K. takes some cues from Wilderness Systems’ award-winning Thresher and Ride MAX Angler kayaks, but was designed from the hull-up to stand alone in its category and deliver high performance for any angler and environment.

“The A.T.A.K. is the product of over a year and a half of work spent designing, engineering and testing and we truly believe it will be a game-changing boat for kayak anglers,” said Wilderness Systems product engineer Hans Nutz. “The A.T.A.K. strikes the elusive balance between speed and stability with a long waterline, highly walkable surface, and wind-shedding hull. Additionally, the deck design is optimized for customization and storage. We worked extensively with the Wilderness Systems Pro Staff to design the most versatile, stable, comfortable kayak on the market and we are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished with the A.T.A.K.”

The A.T.A.K. offers uncompromising performance and maximum comfort to both aspiring and professional kayak anglers. Thanks to its innovative hull design anglers can expect a swift and stealthy ride with minimal wind resistance while paddling, and a stable, walk-able platform that improves overall accessibility and positioning. The boat sits low on the water and the hull is optimized to shed wind, allowing anglers to stay in place longer without being blown off target. The open deck has plenty of room to move around the boat, and its low, yet voluminous sidewalls help to increase stability and decrease side-to-side roll while still being capable of floating 550 lbs. Abundant storage options are intelligently located throughout the deck, including a FlexPod OS console for integrating popular electronics devices such as fish finders or GPS units.

Wilderness Systems’ AirPro MAX seat comes standard, and is even more versatile in the A.T.A.K. with extended travel rails that make it easy to slide the seat fore and aft along much of the length of the boat. The A.T.A.K. is also exclusively compatible with the AirPro 3D® seat (sold separately), an all-new seat that Wilderness Systems is launching this spring. The AirPro 3D gives anglers an elevated “perch” seating position that provides comfortable support and balance while standing to cast, scout fish, or even while paddling. Additionally, a new versatile Stern Mounting Plate designed exclusively for the A.T.A.K. and sold separately, allows anglers to seamlessly mount aftermarket accessories such as battery operated stakeout poles or trolling motors.

The A.T.A.K., AirPro 3D and Stern Mounting Plate are available for purchase at retailers beginning April 20.
