ProPel™ Pedaling Drives Ultimate 12, 14.5 Kayaks Farther, Faster

(Greensboro, North Carolina) – Native Watercraft has announced that shipments have begun for the Ultimate™ MultiSport Kayak with ProPel™ Pedal Drive (patent pending) to retailers across the country. This line extension of this extremely popular model (12 and 14.5 ft. versions) leverages the performance of the extremely popular Ultimate hybrid kayak series into the pedal boat arena.

“Retailers are sharing our enthusiasm for this boat which equips the Ultimate’s patented Tunnel Hull with a ProPel Pedal Drive system,” notes Andy Zimmerman, President and CEO of Legacy Paddlesports. “Its most notable attribute is the 1:10 gear/propeller ratio - one pedal revolution drives ten revolutions of the propeller to get the boat up to speed and on its way quickly. It reverses with little effort and virtually no torque on your legs or ankles.”

“The First Class™ Seat (patent pending) that has set a new standard for comfort can be reclined to offer a recumbent seat position, unlike that of other paddle or pedal-powered boats,” continues Zimmerman. “You can raise the pedal drive up out of the way easily to paddle or pole, helping the Ultimate continue to set a new market standard for non-motorized stability, versatility and comfort.”

The completely sealed ProPel Pedal Drive unit will not be damaged by sand and grit or corrode from salt water use, and lifts out for easy transportation. The Easy Foot™ footbrace system provides comfort while paddling, and the Adapt-a-Trak™ outfitting system allows users to attach additional accessories quickly and securely.
