New Edition River Play Boat Re-Affirms Jackson Kayak Commitment to FUNdamentals.

Jackson Kayak’s best-loved kayak has gotten a face-lift for 2015. Beyond the pretty face that goes with new colors and graphics, the newest generation of the Fun gets back to the fundamentals that have made this classic Jackson Kayak’s best seller.

The entirely new hull design for the 2Fun, Fun and 4Fun sizes of the iconic boat sports high, forgiving, parting lines, lots of leg room for comfort and a sleek style that makes the boat a great choice for those who want to spend more time playing on their downriver outings. In particular the hull speed of the updated Fun makes it easier to catch waves and surf.

“The Fun is a boat you can get a lot of years use out of as you develop your kayaking skills”, said Jackson Kayak President and Whitewater Hall of Famer Eric “EJ” Jackson. “It’s an excellent choice for easing beginners into freestyle and infuse them with the confidence and performance characteristics needed to transition through intermediate into expert boaters.”

Key design features for the new Funs are headline by an entirely new hull design including the following:

• Smooth rocker for speed,
• Higher edges for stability,
• A higher bow that rises over holes and waves so you can stay in control in the rapid,
• Blunted ends make it easier to cartwheel.
• Length optimized to push through the water.

Back when Jackson first started the company in 2003, despite naysayers who insisted there wasn't a market for it, Jackson forged ahead with creating the Fun in sizes all the way down to the pint-sized Fun 1 for his young children, Dane and Emily Jackson, who went on to become multi-time World Freestyle Kayak Champions. At the other end of the size spectrum, the Super Fun was the first time a boat was built with the linebacker-sized kayaker in mind. Jackson’s instinct and foresight to make kayaking more accessible to more people by bringing such a broad spectrum of sizes to market proved the naysayers wrong and created the foundation for the brand’s family-friendly reputation and success.
“The Fun is the ultimate user-friendly boat that offers a lightweight, stable, fast design with a touch of playfulness on the side,” said Emily Jackson. “The DNA of the Fun is the hallmark of my family’s brand: easy to roll, confidence inspiring and best value for the money.”

Equipped with built-in GoPro mounts to capture each Fun river experience on film and a Nalgene bottle to keep hydrated, the Fun comes in small, medium and large sizes and a choice of five colors: solid lime or red and Technicolor Sunrise, Wolverine or Tie-Dye. MSRP $1199.
