Wave Sport releases new Ethos kayak offering outstanding comfort on long, multi-day river treks due to the roomy cockpit, sizeable gear-storage space, and Wave Sport’s new, highly adjustable outfitting system. GREENVILLE, S.C. (October 15, 2012) – Wave Sport has nurtured a big water obsession for more than two decades, and this week the brand enters a new category that will open up the whitewater world to more paddlers than ever before.
The new Ethos, available today, pioneers the river trekking category in the Wave Sport family of boats and offers confidence-building performance for whitewater newcomers and comfort and reliability for seasoned paddlers embarking on longer trips.

Wave Sport Ethos: Introducing the river trekking category to the Wave Sport line, the Ethos is a stable, forgiving, crossover platform. With more whitewater performance attributes than other designs in this category, the Ethos offers a confidence-building introduction to paddling in up to class III whitewater. The hull is maneuverable in rapids, yet tracks well on flat water with the help of a dropdown skeg system. The Ethos offers outstanding comfort on long, multi-day river treks due to the roomy cockpit, sizeable gear-storage space, and Wave Sport’s new, highly adjustable outfitting system.

Key performance features include a full whitewater auto-adjusting foot brace system, an adjustable leglifter, a whitewater-focused rocker profile and a progressive chine that helps beginners learn the feeling of ‘edging’ in a stable, reliable design. These features combined with the river running style peaked bow allow the Ethos to punch rapids, resurface quickly, and move swiftly downriver. A jack-of-all-trades, the Wave Sport Ethos targets both beginners and seasoned paddlers. Beginners who seek to paddle in varying environments with one safe, comfortable boat will appreciate its confidence-building features, allowing them to paddle larger water as their skills progress. The Ethos is also an excellent choice for seasoned paddlers who need a lot of storage for long days, overnighters, and multi-day river treks without sacrificing performance or rolling capability. The larger than normal cockpit, combined with Wave Sport’s all new highly adjustable outfitting system, makes the Ethos comfortable over long distances.

About Wave Sport:
Wave Sport was founded in 1986 with a dedication to all things whitewater, and that philosophy holds true today. For Wave Sport, paddling is a journey whether over the course of a day or a lifetime. Some journeys are destined for a local, glassy surfing wave, while the journey for others may culminate in a first descent of some remote and enormous drop. For those who believe paddling is not just an activity, but a way of life, Wave Sport welcomes you to the ride. Join the Wave Sport Community and learn more at www.wavesport.com.
