"Sambesi - Der Rauch der donnert" Der Zambesi ist der viertgrößte Strom Afrikas (2736 Km). Er entspringt im Norden Zambias zu Namibia und Simbabwe und mündet in Mosambik in den Indischen Ozean. Während Ober- und Unterlauf größtenteils Flachwasser sind, beginnt direkt unterhalb der ViIktoriafälle (1700 m breit und 108 m hoch) eine 120 km lange Wildwasserstrecke mit wuchtigen Katarakten im obersten Schwierigkeitsgrad. Dort sind Olaf Obsommer und sein Team mit ihren Kajaks eingebootet, um die Geheimnisse der berüchtigten Zambesi-Schlucht auf Film einzufangen. Sie konnten eindrucksvolle Aufnahmen mitbringen und beweisen, dass der Zambesi ein Wildwasser-Eldorado ist, das seines Gleichen sucht. Jeder Paddler mit WW IV-Führerschein, einer Portion Mut und sicherer Rolle wird am Zambesi glücklich. Olafs Schwimmer im Rapid Nr. 11 ist mit Helmkamera dokumentiert und zeigt, dass die Theorie mit dem WW IV-Führerschein nur bei einer hundertprozentigen Rolle stimmt, sonst ist es ein Wildwasser-VI-Schwimmer. Der Schwimmer war natürlich gewollt -- stand so im Storyboard des Films ;-) Sonnenuntergänge, Elefanten, Nilpferde, Krokodile, Nashörner und alle Risiken des afrikanischen Fastfoods werden dem Zuschauer einen intensiven Einblick in dieses exotische Land vermitteln.
