Howdy folks!
Im heading to Madawaska/Ottawa in 2 weeks time paddling (wuhoo can't fuppin wait! !!!)
Anyway I was just wondering if anyone has an idea of the temps at the mo, need to sort out thermals etc,
Also if people know the Madawaska region do you know of transport available in this region? Pretty much stuck for a way back to America so I can head home to Ireland!

Hello,

The temperature in the area are really nicethis time of year.
Day time air temperatures vary fro 20 deg. C thru 28.
At night the temps drop to the 14 thru 21 range.
Water temperatures are awsome. The temps are high and makes the experience really nice.
Bring a shorty if you got one. You won't need a dry. one thin layer in the eveings should do it too.
The bugs (mosquitos and deer flies)are out so bring your bug net and/or repelant. (It has been a wet season so it is good for the bug breeding....)

If you are up to a trip to montreal in the Lachine Rapids some of our members including me would be up to that.

Well I only have a one way ticket booked so I can pretty much go where I like!
I am doing a course in Madawaska and only came across your site after I booked it!
Bit of a pity! Oh well! bUt your week couse was only available in July anyway! I was working! But I would love to go to montreal paddling! Will need to rent boats etc, since I was travelling America I couldnt exactly bring a boat with me! Having to rent all my gear!!
Very much regreting not just going to Canada in the 1st place!
Oh well there is always next summer!

Hey there,

The airport in Toronto is called\" Lester B. Pearson International Airport (Toronto International)\".
It is one of the main hubs for traffic heading back over the Atlantic from Canada.
You should not have a problem booking a flight out of there.

If you decide to head to Montreal (the Lachine Rapids) while you are around drop us a line and we will be glad to hook up.
I would think twice about playing at habitat 67. The water quality is bad this time of year and the line ups in the eddy for the wave can still be up to 45 minutes!
While you are here you can also join us for a couple hours of good paddling in Valleyfield... So much topaddle and so little time...

Our club also rents out boats to members.
FYI: The cost of membership is the same as a day rental from a store (35 canadian dollars) and it includes a 1 day rental of all the gear....
If you are going to Montreal and need some paddling partners and gear, let us know.
