For the last couple of years my friends and I have made the journey out to Chilliwack BC as we come out of paddling hibernation in the prairies. It has been great, but we want to try something a little different this year. Some want to go hit the beaches out by Tofino and surf. I am more interested in trying Skookumchuck Tidal Rapid. I have already been surfing the net to find info about Skook and there is a lot of it, but I cannot find best viewing times for 2008 and don't know if this translates into the best kayaking times. I have not had any luck finding tide charts and wouldn't know what to do with one if I found it. We are looking at the last weekend of March and the first week of April 2008. Thanks for the help.

there is a link on there that brings you to the current table. it appears not to be working now, but i'm sure it will work again sometime in the future.

Guys,

Thanks for the sites. We have paddled the Chehailis before (Statloo (?) into the Chehailis). Lots of fun, did it in playboats. Our club, Mistaya Paddling Club, has been out there sixish times and I've been on the last two trips.

Apparently, we are flying out this year. Long beach, the Puntlage, and maybe Skook is what the trip is shaping up to be.

Regards, Brad.

Hey Brad is the Mestaya Club out of California? I work at Western Canoeing and Kayking in Abbotsford and I think I met some guys there from your club at the store last year, possibly you?

If you can make it for the Puntledge River festival its well werth it. Really well put togeather like shuttles and stuff, also its dam controlled so that weekend is a guarantied good flow. Amazing river for play when theres lots of water.

I believe we did meet last year, Ryan. We always stop in at the shop. There were 9 of us. I got a sweet deal on an Astral Vest ($50.00 less than home. We are from Alberta though. Check us out at www.mistayapaddlingclub.com/ .

What are the dates for the festival? Thanks.
