Search Feature Request 17 years 3 weeks ago #21871

First off, major props for having the best (and only?) searchable kayak database on the net.

As I've been helping our club's newest crop of rookie paddlers learn the different types of boats, and try to match them up with locally available boats to demo, I've found myself using the playak database alot. But one feature that it seems to be sorely missing is the ability to punch in a target weight range, to help filter out boats that aren't useable by a particular paddler.

For example:

New guy "Rocky" weighs 175 pounds is 5'6" and wants a playboat. He wants to know which boats he should ask people to borrow/demo.

So I go on Playak, do a playboat search, get the whole list. But then I have to drag it into excel and get rid of all the boats that he's too heavy or light for.

It would be fantastic it you could incorporate a filter for this kind of search. The simplest way would be to input your weight and only show boats that include you in their weight range. Since you already have this data, it shouldn't be too difficult to add.

If you're interested in adding a feature like this, but need or want some help with the SQL / Logic / Interface, just let me know, I'm a web developer myself and wouldn't mind helping out.

Thanks!

Tom
