Hiya all just wanted a bit of advice.
I have been paddling for a few years and learnt in a wavesport score. I now feel i want to progress into playboating. I am about 6"0' and about 60Kg and this ussually results in problems choosing a boat (the long legs ussually mean i only fir into large models). Can anyone suggest a good kayak? Thanks all
Tom

you have exactly the same problem i had. i'm dead on 6ft and weigh 62Kg

if your after a new playboat try the jackson 2Fun it's a bit cramped but quite nice. or g-force 6.1

I went for the 2fun and it's not too bad. the older boats are cheaper but harder to throw around for people our size.

in the end i went for a 2fun and love it

happy boating

There is the Fluid Flirt too, in playboating magazine, one of the latest, there is a test of boats. They says it is a good boat for big people (202 l ) i think so if you dont go to big, river running hav to be possible to. As fast as i've got the money, i try one, but to expensive for a student (17), new boats More info about the Flirt at www.fluidkayaks.com/ the large is the best i think. Am 1.87 m so big enough to get painful legs in little boats :(

Yeh i noticed them, and have been meaning to try one out. I have a feeling that a large flirt would simply have too much volume for me to pull any stunts perhaps a medium would b good. Time to take a trip to nearest kayak shop :D

as tomme said the fluid flrt are nice boats but to chuck round on the flat there'd be too big for you, though haven't seen too many of them around.

tommo are you based in the uk? or USA? if the uk try desperate measures i think they've got some to try but don't quote me on that..

if you really want a playboat to learn in i'd get out and try asmany boats as possible, your best bets are dagger, jackson, and bliss stick. riot are for overweight ameicans but the pyranha s6 190 isn't too bad and is well worth a look.

given the fact that your still likely to be growing i wouldn't go for a new boat if i were u. because your likely to grow out of it.
go for a good secound hand boat and have fun then progress to a more playgfull boat.

enjoy
Ralph
