Hi all, after about a 10 year break from kayaking i have spent the summer having lessons at my local club with the mrs and the time has come to start getting some of my own kit.

I am looking for a PFD and CAG, I have a budget of about £100 - £150 for the 2. I am ultimately looking at doing white water kayaking, I would like the PFD to have a pocket in it preferably to store items.

I have seen the Yak Kougar:-
cgi.ebay.co.uk/YAK-KOUGAR-BUOYANCY-AID-P...a0e201b61d86ff9ecee6

and I have also seen the Palm Vertigo

Can anyone advise if these would be ideal and also if they are any good.

Thanks

Yak is okay, I have a PDF and Cag from Yak and no problems with that. I have the PDF now for many years (more than 8 years I believe) and is still in good shape, so you cant go wrong on that.
Palm is also quality but more expensive I believe.

If you can afford to splash out get stuff from palm but if you have to stick to a budget then go for yak but in the long run you will be pleased that you bought palm equipment

Thanks I have heard that Palm equipment is good quality. The CAG and PFD's at my local club use Palm and people don't tend to look after other peoples items anywhere near as well as their own and that gear all seems good still.
