Apr 23 Social Instagram 'For whatever we lose - like a you or a me - it's always our self we find in the sea' E E Cummings What an absolute joy it was to spend the day at the Women's Adventure Expo Women On Water in Bristol yday! °°° Wonderful speakers - Beth French on her Oceans 7 swimming challenge, Erin Bastian kayaking in Patagonia & Sarah Outen MBE on her London to London rowing, kayaking & cycling adventure. °° The day was full of laughter, energy, support & encouragement. Nudging our comfort zones a little bit further, being our own hero, beginning before we are quite ready, breaking things down to the next stroke, wave, task at hand & being committed to the journey when we don't always know the outcome but going anyway. Lessons for life as well as watery adventures. °° What I loved too was the commitment to protecting & caring for the seas & oceans that are our playground & give us so much joy & adventure. I loved the talks by Natalie Fee from @citytoseabristol about her very successful environmental campaigns on plastic pollution & the @mcs_uk on how we can all make a difference with beach cleans, the good fish guide & Plastic Free Challenges. °°° I took this pic walking back to Alex's along Bristol Harbour. My head was buzzing & my heart was so full and I just wanted to stop & capture the colours & such a wonderful moment. °° The annual WAEXPO conference is 7 October & I do hope I can juggle things to be there too. I really recommend it! °°° I hope you're having a wonderful w/end!
