At the start of the season I had only really been paddling whitewater on a SUP for about a year, and since then I've met so many beautiful people and traveled to a plethora of amazing places. Growing up craving the ocean and seriously persueing kitesurfing and surfing throughout my later teens, the river was something totally different. The presence of the river is so energizing, it's real and wholesome, and so are the people who surround it. The culmination of this energy was FIB Ark, specifically the 10 mile downriver race. After a full on weekend with the team, generous hospitality and guidance from the Lacy's, and EPIC surfing; the downriver race was a true battle, but it was the most visually ...
