Odyssey SUP is an “all water” brand of stand up paddle boards and designed to offer a lighter weight, more durable, price point board to beginner, intermediate and fitness paddlers. Odyssey SUP offers 3 styles, Tour, Surf and Softy. Tour and Surf boards feature the innovative proprietary composite construction, RINOtech™. The Tour model features displacement hull technology for an efficient glide on lakes, rivers and flat ocean. The Surf model features performance elements for maneuvering on a wave but functions great for family type recreation on flatwater. Softy has a surf style shape but features a soft top and rails with innovative attachment points for accessories. All Odyssey SUP boards include an adjustable lightweight paddle.

Innovation

The RINOtech process was developed to create a more durable, lightweight and affordable standup paddleboard. The molded EPS core is wrapped in mat-glass (used in boat hulls) and foaming expoxy, then pressure heated and sealed with gel coat.

Founder

Nate Brouwer, founder of Open Air Dynamics, fell in love with the outdoors exploring the Tahoe backcountry on his mountain bike and snowboard. He discovered standup paddle boarding in 2008 and saw it as a great opportunity to explore new areas of the Tahoe Basin, that were only accessible by water. The traditional surf shapes in the market lacked the functionality and design for flat water paddling, so Nate set out to design a better board. The initial reaction from the surf industry was less than receptive. However, the concept caught fire and paddlers took to lakes, ponds, rivers, and oceans, discovering a new way to experience the waterways around them. Wether for adventure, fitness, increased balance or just getting out on the water, SUP has provided a new perspective to outdoor enthusiasts across the globe.
The company launched Odyssey Standup Paddle Boards in 2012 to bring an accessible introductory product to the growing beginner market. The company is also developing additional SUP products and accessories, and has a singular focus on excellence in design, technology, and function.
