Size Matters!

Ergonomics and Anthropometrics are big words with many syllables.

They are in the dictionary! And if you ask a boffin they may start using terms like percentiles to explain that most adults are 50% - but then you have the higher and lower percentiles!

To you and me it means that a boat that fits you may not fit me. Obvious right? So what do you do - turn around and say sorry you're a weirdo, but buy this any way. NO.

At the Pyranha factory we have lots of odd shaped people stored away for times like these. So we opened the cupboard let them out and made some boats that fit them, and hey presto the Zone range appeared, with lengths at 220, 230 240 cms.

These boats have been designed using the talents of Pyranha's world class development team with too many years of performance between them to mention. These guys and girls know what they want and expect from today's toys - Planing hulls with release kickers. Concave ends for lift and release, slicing ends, balance and controlled volume distribution.

In testing these models have been creating envy and excitement. Other latest machines have fallen away and this is only our intermediate boat!

About the reviewer

I'm an intermediate to advanced river runner.

Test environment

A lot of rivers in Quebec : Rouge, Gatineau, Kipawa, and the Bottom Moose.

Review

This is a good all-around boat. I'm not a rodeo guy, but it allows to surf easily, as long as the wave is long enough...

It is fast, easy to move around, easy to roll, predictable, and it forgives the paddler's mistakes.

I'm 6'1, and I had a good fit after cutting a little bit of the foam to give more room for feet.

The recommended weight is 154 to 230 lbs, and I didn't feel the boat to be too big for my weight even if I'm only 135.

Conclusion

Good all-around boat for beginners to advanced paddlers.

This boat was my first proper boat, I am a little on the light side so nfortunatly I can not play this boat like how some people say you can, I mearly use it for messing about in general paddling etc and I have never had a problem with this boat.

Conclusion
