Specs:

Middle compartment: 37 Lts
Rearcompartments: 50 Lts

Deck: 2.

5 oz C.S mat plus foredeck rescue patch of extra 1.5 oz mat.
Hull: 2.5 oz C.S mat plus 8 oz cloth. 2 inch keel strip. Double thickness reinforced bow and stern.
Inside seam: 2 inch diolen plus 3 inch glass cloth.
Outside seam: 1 inch glass cloth.

The Romany S has been designed as a day kayak for the larger paddler. The kayak has a wider keyhole cockpit than any other British made fibreglass sea kayak and has more volume in the rear compartments than the Romany.

The hull design offers maximum support and the shaped foredeck allows for large feet up to size 11/12. Having a flatter hull this kayak surfs well.

Review

The Romany S has been a wonderful boat to learn in. It seems very stable to me yet is quite responsive when cutting into and out of eddy lines. I also got an Explorer for touring in which is also quite nice. The Romany is harder to roll but I like it when conditions are rough.

Conclusion

I'd highly recommend this boat to anyone looking for a performance boat that seems pretty stable at the same time. I've been a couple other "performance" boats and just didn't feel as comfortable as I did in the Romany. I guess in part that could be to my newness to the sport, but it seems I've done quite a bit of stuff for an old guy learning new tricks.
