The HUKI V2-A was designed by myself (Jude Turczynski), and Jerry Montgomery in the year 2000. Inspired by a balsa wood OC-2 which was designed & built by myself in 1991 with lots of Jerry's advice & assistance, Jerry & I wanted to incorporate some of the features that made that wooden canoe surf waves and glide on the flats. The result is an "all conditions" canoe with lots of rocker and just the right amount of fineness in the ends.

Her rocker allows her to surf the smallest and largest waves without tracking or loss of control. And, this also makes her very responsive to steer no matter what the conditions.
Her rocker allows her to surf the smallest and largest waves without tracking or loss of control. And, this also makes her very responsive to steer no matter what the conditions.
Her fine ends are just full enough to prevent them from burying in the waves and yet allow her to slice through the flats. Jerry's hull designing skills come through once again with another brilliant shape!
Her steering system is unique, simple and well thought out. The HUKI V2-A can have two steering stations! Steering pedals and cables can be installed in both cockpits. You simply clip on the cables for the steering station that you want to use. Or, you can activate both stations if you choose. You can also adjust for the amount of response you want for flat or rough conditions. I suggest owning both the 10" surfing rudder and the 9" grass shedding rudder, and if you want every advantage possible, get the 4" flat water rudder.
The HUKI V2-A cockpits are comfortable and are spaced far enough apart so as to allow room for the rear paddlers to switch sides without hitting the front paddlers' back. Your feet are down low so you can get your knees as low as you want for stability and ease on your lower back.
We can rig this canoe for touring if you like, with stow hatches in the front cockpit, rear cockpit and between the cockpits. We have 4", 5" 6" and 8" diameter openings with screw-on covers. Inside are large volume "fat" storage bags that can be removed to expose the entire hull for storage.
The HUKI V2-A ama is highly rockered with lots of volume so it won't bury when the going gets rough. This ama skims the surface like it should. The iako set fits into the main canoe with a "detent button" and has two adjustment settings, stable and more stable. Adjust ama pitch and main canoe roll with adjustment knobs.
Our vacuum molded V2-As are built with a "HAREX" foam core, so they're stiffer and stronger than usual vacuum bagged canoes found from my competitors

Static waterline length w/ 360 lb payload 22'
Ama LOA 13' 7"
