This is an excellent warm weather touring kayak. Weighing only 33 lbs with a 15'4" waterline, it is fast, lively, and maneuverable. A drop-skeg is part of the framework and is necessary for tracking. Stow gear on the bow and stern decks. With the sit-on-top kayak, your center of gravity is higher. To provide stability, the Java has an ample beam. If you'd like to paddle with a friend occasionally, there is an easy add-on second seat kit.
