See that no one has entered a review for a Current Design Freedom, so here goes. I have a 2010 boat, and bought it new. Also bought flotation bags for the front and rear, so it wouldn't sink if capsized, plus a spray skirt....a really large spray skirt, because of the size of the cockpit.

I have had the kayak for about a year, and use it exclussively on a large lake for exercise. in Virginia I live 50 feet from the water, so take it out when it is calm out, with minimal wind chop. It is always a toss up between taking out the Freedom, or my 14' SUP in those type of conditions. It is a very fast boat, but very unstable if you are not paddling all of the time. Most of the time I do not wear a spray skirt with it, so go out in calm water, and assume that I am going to stay up right. The boat has minimal thigh bracing, and minimal bracing from the seat and hips. I really have to work on staying in the boat if I am going to do an eskimo roll, so I don't fall out. Very large cockpit, so easy to get in and out on land. Very light weight boat, and easy to carry on a shoulder to the water. You can't really do a self rescue with this boat, since their is no place to anchor your paddle for a brace, and the deck is pretty thin kevlar, so you don't want to put much weight on it. So you want to stay close to the shore, so you can swim to shore if you do tip it over, and can't get a roll.

It would be nice to have better thigh bracing, to make it easier to roll, and make it more stable in rough water. Also it would be nice to have a little better seat, so you could have better back support for longer paddles, and a tighter fit around the hips.
