New for 2008, Current Designs introduces the Freedom Fitness Kayak.
The Freedom is a fitness kayakers dream. Using our race proven, Stratus hull, we raised the bar with a re-designed deck that is all about speed!
The Freedom’s deck height is low bow-to-stern to evade winds. We’ve sculpted recesses into the fore deck providing ample hand clearance for the high angle paddling stroke this boat deserves. The Freedom has a large, open cockpit to allow paddlers a choice between elevated knees, common to K1, or traditional leg positioning. The Freedom is available exclusively in a Kevlar™ Ultra-light construction, outfitted with a SmartTrack rudder system and fore/aft adjustable seat required for proper trim. Pair the Freedom with a wing paddle to unlock this kayaks true performance.

See that no one has entered a review for a Current Design Freedom, so here goes. I have a 2010 boat, and bought it new. Also bought flotation bags for the front and rear, so it wouldn't sink if capsized, plus a spray skirt....a really large spray skirt, because of the size of the cockpit.
I have had the kayak for about a year, and use it exclussively on a large lake for exercise. in Virginia I live 50 feet from the water, so take it out when it is calm out, with minimal wind chop. It is always a toss up between taking out the Freedom, or my 14' SUP in those type of conditions. It is a very fast boat, but very unstable if you are not paddling all of the time. Most of the time I do not wear a spray skirt with it, so go out in calm water, and assume that I am going to stay up right. The boat has minimal thigh bracing, and minimal bracing from the seat and hips. I really have to work on staying in the boat if I am going to do an eskimo roll, so I don't fall out. Very large cockpit, so easy to get in and out on land. Very light weight boat, and easy to carry on a shoulder to the water. You can't really do a self rescue with this boat, since their is no place to anchor your paddle for a brace, and the deck is pretty thin kevlar, so you don't want to put much weight on it. So you want to stay close to the shore, so you can swim to shore if you do tip it over, and can't get a roll.
It would be nice to have better thigh bracing, to make it easier to roll, and make it more stable in rough water. Also it would be nice to have a little better seat, so you could have better back support for longer paddles, and a tighter fit around the hips.
I have two other boats that I also paddle: Current Design Soltice GT, and a P&H Aries
