The MacKenzie Sport 15 offers a stable hull design appreciated by hunters & fishermen. An optional rowing rig allows a solo operator good control and performance without using a motor.

The 37" beam and 15" center depth provides over 1000 lbs of capacity with 7" of freeboard. Its efficient hull design provides excellent performance with a 2 to 3 HP outboard. Trials conducted with a 3HP outboard showed that with one operator positioned on the middle seat, the 15 Mac Sport reached speeds in excess of 10 mph. Motor, row or paddle it.

MacKenzie Sport Series - Speed Test:
The table below details the speeds of the MacKenzie Sport models with varied loads and three different motors. The speeds were measured with a handheld GPS unit. All three motors used for this test were 10-20 years old. New motors would likely yield faster speeds.

These canoes are built with a squared off stern to accommodate a small electric or gas motor up to the equivalent of 3 hp max. These canoes are designed to take a load. The best choice for those canoeists who prefer to 'troll' along the majority of the time.
