The Beluga is a composite tandem, which, from the first strokes of the paddle ensures ease and confidence.

This kayak combines stability and performance, and is capable of reaching high cruising speeds. A moderate rocker, coupled with a larger rudder, make the kayak easy to turn. Large cockpits offer ample room for the legs and feet. The practical centre compartment can be used for extra storage or outfitted with an optional child seat/bulkhead. The cockpits are spaced sufficiently apart, allowing the paddlers to paddle at their own speed, without risk of accidental collision between the two paddles. This makes the kayak ideally suited to paddlers with mixed abilities or families with young children.

The beluga is a small whale that inhabits the arctic and subarctic waters. A small population of belugas can be found in the St. Lawrence estuary and the Saguenay River fjord. Belugas are also seen occasionally in the Bay of Fundy. The beluga is an endangered and fully protected species.

Optional:
A fourth bulkhead (+ 5 lb) can be added to the centre compartment to seat a small child. When this hatch is closed it increases kayak buoyancy, making this safe, manoeuvrable and exceptionally stable kayak ideal for family excursions.

Important:
A child can be seated in the middle hatch section of a tandem kayak. Maximum recommended weight is 32 kilograms (70 pounds). We do not recommend having a child aboard in high winds or choppy waters. Never tie down a baby to a seat or to the kayak.
