Overview

The Super Nova is a smart touring board with a new, compact design. It features the Double Chamber LITE Tech, which includes a 60L inner chamber for additional safety buoyancy. The smart folding concept reduces the board’s travel pack size to half of what’s typically seen. The board’s design is inspired by the new season “Supernova” graphic.

Its traction pad has a reduced diamond grooved design for improved grip. The all-round outline and entry rocker accommodate various water conditions. The deck is layered with 4mm thick soft foam for added comfort. It’s fitted with a double valve system for easy inflation and deflation.

The board comes with a total of six D-ring connectors: four for the bungee system and two for the safety leash, plus a forward tow point. There’s also an easy-to-carry side grab handle for convenience. Finally, it boasts a 5-inch double fin system for excellent tracking and stability. Brand Claim

Safety and performance folded into one small backpack. This is the very definition of the Compact Collection. Through reduced traction pads, the Double Chamber LITE Tech now offers even more convenience in packing with uncompromised function and revamped graphic design. The Super Nova is the ultra-travel friendly iSUP built tough yet light, combined with the Double Chamber Lite construction.

Performance

With the Supernova, the smart design goes further than just looks with some well-thought out design aspects. First, the tight design we’ve already mentioned. Then, Aztron’s two-chamber tech is like a smaller SUP inside a larger SUP. These chambers work together to increase torsional resistance because of the extra sidewalls in the construction. The inner chamber carries a residual 60 litres of air, so if you did shred the rails over mussels or rusty metal you’ve got back-up buoyancy.

The Supernova’s 11’0 sits between standard 10’6s and full-size tourers, and less affected by wind for a beginner all-rounder / tourer. This makes it fun for riders up to 100kg and those who like the flexibility to take their board in small waves, catch some surf, and dodge around rocks. The provided 2.0 paddle will comfortably get you through a season of paddling, but the Aztron Next carbon paddle would really set the Super Nova off once you’re tuned in. This is a fab re-imagining of Aztron’s radio-friendly unit shifter, we’re impressed.
