Send a Tweet, Save a River

Tweeters can help save the Colorado River. At this year's Outdoor Retailer Summer Market tradeshow July 30-Aug, river runners and more are being asked to tweet a simple message to former REI CEO and current Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell- who leads the major federal agency that makes policy on the Colorado River - to help save the river...
A major economic driver pumping $26 billion into the U.S. recreation economy each year and supporting a quarter million jobs, the river faces challenges due to over-allocation, drought, climate change and more. Recreation lovers are being asked to tell Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell that the Colorado River is a major economic driver in the West and ask her to stand up to keep it flowing.

And there's incentive for doing so. Every person who sends the tweet from this site protecttheflows.com will be entered into a drawing for a Boardworks Surf stand up paddleboard. The drawing will take place at the Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City. Winners will be chosen at random from those who send a tweet using the #CoRiver hashtag and you do not have to be present at the show to win. You can also copy and paste the following text into Twitter yourself:
$26B & growing, @SecretaryJewell stand up to keep our #CoRiver rec economy flowing!

The Stand up for the Colorado River effort will also be at the below events at the Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City.
