PasddleFest Comes to Buena Vista May 24-26

Fun for the whole family...

This year's Paddle Fest also announces a partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaffee County, which will be the beneficiary of this year's overall proceeds.

Paddle Fest is an interactive and hands-on paddling experience, drawing thousands of newbies and enthusiasts from around the region to learn, share, watch and celebrate what paddling has to offer. The multiple location venues include a flat-water demo center, on water education, river competitions, multi-sport races, free demos, and several other non-paddling events centered on "all ages" participation.

"We're proud to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chaffee County through the proceeds," says organizer Earl Richmond. "It's exciting to work with such a great local and national organization that shares our values of bettering our community by aiding the youth of the region."

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County provides a safe, positive place to learn and grow, ongoing supportive relationships with caring adults and lots of fun.

While today's youth face many challenges, Boys & Girls Clubs continue their long tradition of offering proven solutions that work. Clubs have provided youth with daily guidance-oriented character development programs, firmly establishing a reputation as "The Positive Place for Kids" where kids are encouraged to be great in a wide variety of ways. Their mission is clear: Build upon this success to reach out and serve more youth.

"We're honored to be their partner," says club board president Karen Dils. "Many Club members have parents involved in this event. Collaboration is what makes any organization or project effective and this project should benefit the whole community with more awareness of Boys & Girls Clubs, educating youngsters about water sports, and bringing economic benefit to the area."
