The truth is, he is all of the above, and that’s what has made him a true icon in the world of SUP. Coolest of all though, is how his company, @performancepaddling is helping to get youth and adults off the couch and on the water to enjoy paddling. Q: Other than being good exercise, what lessons can a child learn from SUP? A: Respect for the oceans, rivers, lakes, and waterways of the world. Q: When will SUP become an Olympic sport? Will you participate as an athlete or an announcer? A: I believe it’s only a matter of time. Not sure when, but it’s such an appealing sport in so many ways. I would love to participate as an announcer, coach, or athlete. Q: You represented the U.S. in the World Lifesaving Championships. Fess up - did you, or do you still, watch Baywatch? A: Watched it and lived it. I worked as an extra for a few seasons. The creator of Baywatch was a real lifeguard and gave back to the sport of lifesaving and paddleboarding (prone). So that's pretty cool. Q: You’re a motivational speaker. Give us a tip on how to wake up in the morning. A: Knowing that every day is an opportunity to do something awesome, makes waking up exciting for me.
