Nov 7 Social Instagram So @aprilzilg sends me this little gem at 8:18am Monday morning. It’s from @surf2sound this past weekend. On her face, you can see that her mouth is making the theme music to the movie Jaws. On my face you can see two things: #snot and #fear Only seconds from the finish line, I️ had fallen in and she smelled blood. How @lauraglantz.designphoto captured me looking directly into her lense is a mystery. Strangely, and on a serious note, I’m glad this moment was captured. April and I️ have been racing together for around 6 years, we are both team riders for @carolinapaddleboardco I’ve been fortunate enough to watch her evolve into an amazing #SUP #athlete one of the top female paddlers in the world, and a #rolemodel to many people. I️ think of her as a sister. This was our last race together before she and her husband, Corey, @mtb_sup move to California. There is going to be a void at some of the races over here for awhile, but that’s ok, I️ know it’s all for the good.
