Apr 10 Social Instagram Fishin for some small mouth along the bluffs on the Buffalo was a pretty cool experience. Needless to say I'm glad we didn't depend on fish for dinner though!
Apr 10 Social Instagram Good hygiene on a expedition is a must, so I use Joshua tree skincare products @jtreelife to protect me from the sun and to keep the B.O away. The tea tree/mint body wash works like a charm against bacteria and is also river safe. °: @jax.berger
Apr 9 Social Instagram We were lucky to run into carol and chuck bitting on the river. They were enjoying the day with there kids and grandkids when we paddled up. Being strong advocates for the river and watershed alliance members, it was a joy to talk with them and get up to date info on issues. Probably the most exciting and opportunity was giving them the chance to try out our paddleboards!
Apr 7 Social Instagram Sleeping under the stars is hard for some people because of all the sounds the night holds. For me I love to lay in my hammock tryin to recognize those sounds and connect in a different way. @jax.berger captured an incredible shot of night two.
Apr 7 Social Instagram As we paddled down the Buffalo we had multiple spots where we encountered this sight. It broke my heart seein people leave there fires burning and trash behind. Out of all the rivers, lakes, and oceans I've paddled on they have one consistent thing in common (trash). Please if you pack it in pack it out, and even if it's not yours pick it up. This is a prime example of people lacking respect for the outdoors and for others.
Apr 6 Social Instagram Happy Monday everyone I hope y'all are charged up for an awesome new week of pictures from the Buffalo National River. This was from day two of the trip, enjoying some mornin caveman coffee while charging up and mapping out the day.
Apr 6 Social Instagram Out of the corner of my eye I saw this group trotting along the river bank ahead of us. I picked up my pace tryin to catch up with them, luckily before they crossed the river they stopped a bit. So I got to say hello and visit a little while before they crossed. For those of you that don't know me I grew up on a farm riding and rodeoing. So when I paddled up and started talkin horses with them I think they were a little shocked. I'll post the video of them crossin the river with there dogs soon!
Apr 4 Social Instagram We hiked into Hemmed in Hallow falls on day one, and at 209 ft is the tallest waterfall between the Rockies and the Appalachians.

Apr 2 Social Instagram The put in at Ponca bridge on launch day was packed with paddlers doing day paddles. It's funny how fast word traveled that we were doin the whole river on Paddleboards. I think the person that got the biggest kick out of it was the fish and game officer at the launch. The upper section of the river sees a lot of boat traffic and for good reason, it's scenic bluffs with small whitewater are exciting and amazing. °: @jax.berger
Apr 2 Social Instagram While hiking along big bluff the day before I saw a roof in the tree line below us next to the river. The next day while paddling and gettin close to that spot, we stopped and pulled over to see if we could find it and this is what we found. When they turned the Buffalo Into a National river they allowed the residents to keep the homestead but couldn't pass it down to family. As residents eventually passed away ruminants of there homesteads remain. For insulation they lined old newspapers on the walls. We found a date on one from March 3, 1952 along with some other neat pictures. °: @jax.berger
Apr 1 Social Instagram This picture is probably my favorite from the trip because it speaks volumes. With the Fight to SOAR (Save Our American Rivers) project my wife and I hope to grab the attention of not only adults but mainly our youth, paddleboarding, adventure, and awareness helps us do that. Our youth will be the ones dealing with the issues we've created, and they need to be reconnected to nature in a positive way and want to save what we have left. I'll explain more on the purpose of this trip in the next photo this afternoon. °: @jax.berger
Apr 1 Social Instagram Walkin along Big Bluff overlookin the Buffalo National River my heart filled with a mixture of happiness and anger. The magic and beauty that fills the Buffalo's river basin is irresistible and undeniable. That's why it's so hard for me to imagine someone wanting to endanger it with pollution or disgrace it by littering. The purpose of this expedition is to bring awareness to a major issue that's threatening the river. Pollution from a factory hog farm that has moved onto one of the major tributaries is slowly but surely tainting its waters. Remember this is the first National river which means it's yours, mine, and our future generations. Mother Nature can't speak or fight for herself she needs our help, when we do and stand together we're powerful.
