Wyoming, North Platte River, Casper Whitewater Park

What's it like
A great park and play if you are driving through or even for late season play - a great place to hang out and cool off. It is located just upstream from downtown Casper.
The park has four man made features. The first is a great wave at anything above 1700 cfs, the second is a little harder to play and doesn't have much eddy access at all above 1700 cfs - a great pocket wave hole. The third structure is a long gradual drop that leads to a good wave train - all kinds of down river tricks can be of use and fun. The fourth is a wave hole - river left side is more wave and right side is more of a hole, this is were the competitions have taken place.
How to get there
From I-80 take popular street exit to first street. Turn right heading away from downtown. If you cross the second bridge and golf course you've gone too far. About a quarter mile on the left after you are on 1st street - it's the little park on the left.
Locals
During the hot summer days you'll find a lot of bugger boarders, they aren't too much of a hassle, we have regulators if you know what I mean. But most kayakers show up after work and when temp starts to cool off around 5:30 or so.
Events
Usually have a rodeo around end of June or middle of July.
