South-Eifel, Neuerburg, River Enz, Neuerburg Falls

Waterfall: Germany, South-Eifel, Neuerburg, River Enz, Neuerburg Falls

What's it like

At normal water level it is a 5 meter drop, at flood level the water goes over some rocks on the side and the height changes to 6 meter. The river is 3 to 4 meter wide. You can jump straight forward in the center between two rocks. Avoid the right side, as there is a nasty undercut, which you can hardly see from above.

At flood level there's a heavy stopper 4 meter before the jump, that could cause some problems keeping the right line, but that's no problem when there's a normal waterlevel.

Surrounding WW: The Enz from Neuerburg to the Prüm, grade I-II, but better is the Irreler Wasserfälle grade III-IV. best time: autumn, winter, spring (temperature: cold)

How to get there

(1) From Bitburg it's 25 km ride. Take the B50 to Sinspelt, that's west. You'll pass by the villages Oberweis, Mülbach, Brimingen. In Sinspelt, take the road to Neuerburg. (2) If you come from Irrel, known from the Wasserfälle (playak.com), it's also 25 km. In Irrel take the road to Prümzurlay, it's the same road to go to the Irreler Wasserfälle on the Prüm. Pass by and keep following this road through Prümzurlay, Holsthum, Peffingen, Enzen, Mettendorf, Sinspelt all the way to Neuerburg.

In Neuerburg, follow the main road through the village, when it starts to go up hill and there 's curve to the right, you might notice a big rock on the left with a sign on it:

There's the fall. There is also a mill and a sign left to the citypark. You can park a bit further on the main road. It's in the center of the village between the houses. You can get a nice view from the citypark. Just up stream is a bridge.
