I'm a Florida kayaker and still new to the sport. I've been taking my kayak to surf at the beach and have managed to do a few 360's...however, most of the time I fall off the back of the wave at the 180 position. Any tips?

first off there is a flat spin and a 360..flat spins are usually done on the green part of the wave where im guessing you are trying to spin..make sure you are falling down the wave face initiate your spin with a back sweep while leaning slightly foward(this releases your stern).. and keep your boat flat(make sure your not on edge)...be sure to lead with head and body.

Stupid question: does your kayak have a flat bottom? If it's round stop trying and buy a playboat.

I have a Pyranna 240 and a Liquid Logic session. The pyranna is usually a bit more forgiving to me so I went back to using that after my shoulder surgery. I think I'll pull out the Session and take it to the beach this weekend.
:santa:
Thanks,
Nicole
