How do you handle it? Do you stand up? Swim the rapid to a safe point? Get back on? Where should you be in relation to your board? If the answers don't come readily to you then, now you know what you don't know! And that's important! It could save your life - even on an 'easy' river. Going into the river is just like venturing into avalanche terrain, or scrambling off trail or venturing into a glacier. What you don't know can kill you. So take a river paddling course. Learn river paddling skills, have more fun with less effort, and learn how to stay safe out there! At @bearfoot_performance_paddling we have a river weekend coming up June 10-12. And another later in July. But we don't care where you take your course. Our buddy Brandon at @bowvalleysup has a River 1 course coming up. Friends @normhann and @chadguenter have a full weekend course coming up June 15-17. Our friends at Undercurrents in Calgary have River 1 courses all through the summer. No excuses - take a course!
