The new Salto Evolution has increased volume in the stern area making it easier to correct and control when it gets tough.

The Salto is predictable when resurfacin. has an almost automatic will to "boof" and is very easy to roll.

Technical feature: X.ribs on the deck for more stiffness, safety and weight reduction.

About the reviewer

I started the kayak 1 year ago.

Test environment

Class 1-2-3 river

Review

I was looking for a good kayak for beginner and not as big as the prijon hercules as I am a light weight paddler. I have a prijon fly which seems to difficult for me now so the salto evolution is a good middle between hercules and fly and really secure for beginner or large volumes.

Conclusion

Easy to roll (even if the boat forgives many errors) and almost as good as the 2001 version which I tested and loved (surely even better).
I think it's one of the best quality/price boat with large volume for anybody looking for an allround secure and beautiful boat (I have the orange one).
Even if I'm right now only a beginner, experts told me that the boat is perfect for better paddlers, thus I'll be able to enjoy the boat for the next 10 years.
