Palm Blogs Balkan Rivers Tour destination guide – part 3
Palm Blogs - Things have been looking better this year for the Vjosa Valley. With the Albanian Administrative Court deciding in favour of a free-flowing river, scientists have gained time to better research and understand the importance of Vjosa remaining dam free. The battle for Vjosa goes on though, as the Albanian Government appeals the court’s decision.
Palm Blogs Northwest Greenland kayak to climb expedition
Palm Blogs - We’ve just got back from twenty days self-supported kayaking a climbing at 72° north, above Upernavik, Greenland. With 280 kilometres paddled, two new 850 metre peaks, three new six pitch routes (up to E2), we even had time to get up on the ice cap with our axe and crampons. The weather was mixed and lots of sea ice around in the fjords, but no bears. Reproduced from The Arctic Club report by Olly: The team of Roger Chandler and Olly Sanders, left the UK on 24 July and after four flights and two overnight stops arrived in Upernavik . We were staying with Nikolaj Sørensen who was renting us boats and providing our gun...
American Rivers We need to protect wetlands and streams as they are vital to flood protection
American Rivers - Wetlands and small streams are the first line of defense for communities facing hurricanes and severe storms but they’re risk with Clean Water Rule repeal. The streams soak up water when it rains and wetlands reduce the slow down storms and minimize their force before they reach land. US has lost a lot of wetlands and now the Clean Water Rule roll back threatens these water bodies. We need to conserve and safeguard wetlands for our own good now.

Jackson Kayak The Greenbrier
Jackson Kayak - The Greenbrier is 173 miles of pristine, crystal clear river. It is one of the longest free flowing rivers in the world that is not dammed. I believe the name comes from the beautiful green hue the water seems to retain in the deeper pools or maybe it is named for that very plant that lines the banks along this West Virginia hot spot. I prefer to think it is the former.

Badfish SUP Trip Report – England
Badfish SUP - My trip to England was not a river trip. But as many of us would have done, I still brought a board and carved out a day or two to see if I couldn’t hop on a wave. Turns out to no one’s surprise, summer in England isn’t an easy time to find surf.
