Jackson Kayak Kayak Fishing - Advanced Topwater Tips
Jackson Kayak - I imagine a ten pound trophy bass busting a topwater bait. How about a 40 inch northern pike, or a giant tarpon spraying salt water everywhere? Any surface hit, even that of a trout or maybe a spawning hand sized bluegill makes for an instant memory and a fish tale. While there are an enormous amount of ways to fool a fish, there’s no denying topwater action has no parallel.
Jackson Kayak Jackson Antix
Jackson Kayak - The new Jackson Antix has been getting a bunch of attention since it was released a couple of months ago. My local kayak shop, The Kayak Shed in Hood River, OR has been nice and let me take it out a few times.
Canoe Kayak Best Whitewater Trips in the Ozarks
Canoe Kayak - Culled from the guidebook Paddling the Ozarks (forthcoming May 2017 from Falcon Guides) here are 5 of the region’s best whitewater trips, but know there’s even more whitewater for those who go looking. Canoe Guy BC See Wood Canvas Canoe on wild river in the Path of the Paddle Solo Whitewater Film
Canoe Guy BC - The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) website is a treasure trove of beautiful short films. Among my personal list of favourites is the Path of the Paddle series by Bill Mason. Of the four films in the series, Path of the Paddle Solo Whitewater (1977) is the one I tend to watch over and over again. Not only is the photography outstanding, I get a thrill every time I see a wood-canvas canoe being jockeyed through 3′ (one meter) standing waves in a wild river.

Samata Mag Barriers to Connecting on the Water
Samata Mag - For many people, the notion of simply taking time to get on the water may seem like another thing they have don't have time for. I'll wait til the weekend, mentality.I compare it to meditation practice.

Rob Casey SUP Paddle Repair - Tightening or Replacing the Cable on a Accent or Kialoa Adjustable Paddles
Rob Casey - I have a few adjustable lever-lock  Accent paddles that after two years of heavy use in saltwater from my students, and my lack of care that have cables inside the shafts have loosened, thus the rubber ring on the bottom of the interior shaft doesn't tighten, so the handle isn't secure.

Mt. Hood H2O Deep Creek: an urban kayaking adventure
Mt. Hood H2O - After our wood-choked 3rd trip down the NF of Deep on February 19th, I was feeling a little "Crusered" because of the many portages. Rod Kilner and I had done this run a couple of years ago (Jacob and I had first run it 8-9 years ago) and it was pretty clean, but now the first half is kind of a disaster. After about 2 miles, we gave serious thought to hiking out as we were concerned about light, but stuck with it and were rewarded with a much cleaner second half and a euphoric trip through the unique and fun Peashooter Gorge.
Austin Kayak Go Play Day: Fishing For White Bass At Nails Creek State Park
Austin Kayak - My hometown friend Tyler and I set out out last Sunday to Nails Creek State Park in a 12-foot 5hp Jon Boat, attempting to find some white bass or crappie. Honestly, with the super light rods and reels we were using, catching anything would’ve been a positive. I had a Shakespeare’s spinning reel spun with braided line (which ended up being a horrible idea), and I couldn’t cast the little plastic grubs or marabou jigs we were using due to the friction of the braided line, combined with that small of a reel and lure.
Tahoe SUP Explore the Black Canyon on a Standup Paddle Board
Tahoe SUP - It seemed impossible that this translucent green, vibrant ribbon of cold water could exist in such a hot and arid landscape. But there it was. A river, deep and full of life, sculpting its way through towering desert canyon walls and cutting into the stone heart of this land for the last 5 million years.
Standup Journal Naish’s Kai Lenny at Sunset Beach Pro
Standup Journal - This first event in the newly designed APP World Tour kicked off with high octane performances across the the men’s and women’s final sup surf events. Dominating for the men was Kai Lenny and Naish teammate Bernd Roediger. The day began with some trepidation for event coordinators as the swell was weak for the finals event. On Thursday, as day began to dawn, relief swept the crowd as the expected swell began to rise. In the end, the sup surf finals were high performance rounds
