Adventure Technology (AT) is sponsoring two events, “Ladies on the Lower G” and the Upper Gauley Animal Race, at the 29th annual Gauley Fest this weekend. Adventure Technology (AT) is sponsoring two events, “Ladies on the Lower G” and the Upper Gauley Animal Race, at the 29th annual Gauley Fest this weekend. Additionally, AT will host a booth with giveaways and a raffle. The festival takes place September 14-16, 2012, in Summersville, W.V.

All proceeds from Gauley Fest go towards American Whitewater river conservation and access efforts. “The Gauley Fest benefits an outstanding organization that supports the rivers we at AT love to enjoy,” said Tracy Waldroup, marketing manager for Adventure Technology. “The festival truly represents a celebration of rivers and the paddling community, and we are thrilled to giving back to the people who continue to further our sport in the name of good adventure.”

Adventure Technology is sponsoring “Ladies on the Lower G,” an event organized by AT athlete and Girls at Play founder, Anna Levesque. The all-women event will take place for the ninth annual year, paddling the Gauley as a team to help women paddlers gain confidence and skills. All proceeds from the event will be donated to American Whitewater.

The second event sponsored by Adventure Technology, the Animal Race, is a 9-mile class V downriver sprint on the legendary Upper Gauley. The race usually offers plenty of carnage and entertainment for spectators, and ends with the grand finale at Sweets Falls, a class V, 8-foot drop.

Gauley Fest is a celebration of the river and river culture. It is also the single largest fundraising event for American Whitewater. AT will be on hand with a booth, AT swag, and a raffle for the AT2 Standard paddle. Tickets are $2 for one or $5 for three, and participants must be present Saturday night to win. All proceeds will go to American Whitewater.

About Adventure Technology:
In 1993, an idea for the first, whitewater-specific, ergonomic paddle was borne. That idea grew into Adventure Technology (AT), a paddle maker who doesn’t seek to “balance” adventure with technology, but rather seeks to push both concepts to the outer limits. AT now delivers premium whitewater and touring paddles known for excellence in design, craftsmanship and innovation. In 2009, AT joined the rest of the Confluence Watersports family in Greenville, S.C., to continue its legacy of dedicated research and development, all in the name of a good adventure. www.atpaddle.com
