Wenonah Canoe, a major manufacturer of premium canoes and kayaks is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Mike Cichanowski, the owner and founder of Wenonah Canoe is a veteran cross country skier of 30 Birkebeiners. To celebrate Wenonah’s 40th year and Mikes 31st Birkie Wenonah Canoe is a participating sponsor of this years event set to take place February 21, 2009.

Championships and have participated in many other long distance ski races both in the United States and Europe. Mike is an avid skier and is involved in supporting and building ski trails in the Winona, Minnesota area.

Mike and his family have a long history in cross country skiing. Both of his daughters have won the Minnesota State High School Ski
Included in each participants bib bag is a Wenonah Canoe and Current Designs catalog. There will also be a booth set up near the registration desk where additional catalogs will be available and staff will be on hand to answer questions.

In addition to sponsoring this years event Wenonah is offering all skiers participating in the Birkebeiner or Kortelopet free accessories with the purchase of a boat. If a skier purchases a Wenonah canoe or Current Designs kayak they will receive 10% of the purchase price of the boat in free accessories.
