Hi forum readers.

In 96 days I’m going to take my Hobie Tandem Adventure Island around the Independent State of Samoa to raise money and awareness for the prevention of youth suicide. This has been an adventure in the planning for over a year, and I’m currently fitting out the kayak with an electrics system and all the necessary communications equipment.

It is a solo voyage and will come close to 400kms over 10-12 days. I set off on 22 April 2013 and you can follow the Blog at http://www.kayak4youth.com or on Facebook and Twitter by searching ‘Kayak4Youth’.

For the technically minded, here’s a very rough YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drI2pHP366w) showing the modifications so far. Once complete, I’ll run through each modification in more detail. As I say in the YouTube, I am making this up as I go (and it is a lot of fun!) so I’d really like to hear any suggestions offered by members of the forum.
I hope you follow the adventure (will be live tracking on the www.kayak4youth.com website and on social media) and I’ll keep posting regular updates.

Cheers

Andy (Kayak4Youth)
