LiquidLogic and Legacy Paddlesports have announced plans to merge, signaled by a signed Letter of Intent. The move comes after Liquidlogic arranged to begin manufacturing its kayaks at Legacy's plant in Greensboro. Legacy CEO Andy Zimmerman will lead the combined companies. The owners of LiquidLogic will become partial owners of Legacy Paddlesports, along with Zimmerman and co-founder Hol Whitney. Zimmerman described the combination as a "win-win." "We have been friendly competitors for many years," Zimmerman said. "I don't know of any other paddlesports companies with more experienced and passionate people in the world than those at LiquidLogic and Legacy Paddlesports, and we are looking forward to the partnership." The announcement from the two firms did not detail any operational changes that may result from the merger.
