| Slalom Races at USNWC | |||
Where: USA, NC, The U.S. National Whitewater Center, Charlotte Slalom Races at USNWC March 20-21 When: Saturday and Sunday 2pm Who can race: Anyone who wants to, slalom boat or recreational boat. How many classes are there: 5, Men’s Kayak, Women’s Kayak, Men’s C1, Women’s C1, and C2. Race Format: Saturday and Sunday will run as a standard race, 2 runs per racer, best run counts. Saturday will serve as a qualifier, Sunday as the final. Racers will be re-ranked on Sunday according to Saturday’s results. Winner of the Spring Slalom Race will be determined on Sunday. Race runs are usually 90-100 seconds long. Who wins: Fastest boat down the course in each class, each racer has 2 runs each day, best run counts. Penalties are added to each athlete’s overall time for hitting poles or missing gates completely. • Register via email confirmation at dhepp@usnwc.org • Pay on-site day of, before athlete meeting, $30 entry fee (includes water time for both days) • Athlete meeting 12pm at Kayak Check-in Building, Mar. 20 Come join us as we cheer on our athletes as they begin their quest towards the London 2012 Olympic Games.
