South Carolina State Line, Chattooga, Hole above Seven Foot Falls
Playspot: USA, Georgia, South Carolina State Line, Chattooga, Hole above Seven Foot Falls
What's it like
Depends on the water levels:
- From levels of about 1.0 to 1.8 ft on the bridge it is a wave, two drops above Seven foot falls (IV).
- From 1.9 to 2.2 ft it begins to break and some rodeo moves are manageable, especially in short boats.
- From 2.4 to 2.6 ft. on the gauge it is perfect, you can throw just about anything and the hole is retentive. Big fun, bad swim, some recovery time (NB steep drops and undercuts follow, not recommended for beginners).
- 2.7 ft. and up it is too big, the hole blows out.
How to get there
Highway 76 E from Clayton, Georgia. Highway 76 W from Westminster, South Carolina. You will reach a bridge that crosses Chattooga and forms the state line. Parking is available on both sides.
Get further shuttle info there or at Chattooga Whitewater Shop from Bruce Hare.
