Louisville, KY. Riverthon℠ 2015 will be held in Louisville Kentucky on October 3, 2015. The four Paddlesport race series features four downriver races on the Ohio River: The Louisville 50, a 50 mile adventure race from Westport, KY to West Point, KY; The Mayor’s Cup, a 22 mile race from Westport, KY to Louisville’s Waterfront Park; The SUP-7, A 7 mile Stand up Paddleboard race from Harrods Creek, KY to Waterfront Park; and, The Voyageur Canoe Race, a 7 mile race from Harrods Creek, KY to Waterfront Park. Teams of 11 paddlers race 30’ Voyageur Canoes, furnished by the City of Louisville. The Riverthon℠ racing series started in 2011 with running of the first Mayor’s Cup Race. In 2013 the Louisville 50 race was added and in 2015 it has grown to four events. Riverthon℠ is produced and conducted by River City Paddlesports, Inc. a 501c3 all-volunteer nonprofit corporation.
