San Diego, CA, January, 2016 - PaddleFit, the only comprehensive SUP training and coaching system, today announced plans to host certification courses across the US, Canada and Central America in 2016 starting with a course at PaddleFit HQ in San Diego on January 30th and 31st. PaddleFit founder Brody Welte and his experienced coaching team will bring their unique combination of paddling technique and coaching to various cities this year, including:

San Diego, CA
New York City, NY
Tacoma, WA
Austin, TX
Gulf Shores, AL
Denver, CO
Boston, MA
Annapolis, MD
Wrightsville Beach, NC

“PaddleFit’s goal has always been to create a community of people who are passionate about SUP, fitness and being active outdoors,” Welte said. “Our certification program empowers coaches to build a thriving PaddleFit community all over the globe and that’s why we’re holding courses across the US and beyond.”

In working with everyone from first-time paddlers, to top SUP pros, to legendary watermen like Dave Kalama, Welte and his team are continually refining the PaddleFit system to meet the coaching/training needs of men and women of all ages and abilities.

In addition to announcing the 2016 tour dates, PaddleFit recently evolved its Level 1, 2 and 3 program offerings and coaching curriculum into two - 2 day courses called PaddleFit Core and PaddleFit Pro.

First time attendees who sign up will go through the newly developed PaddleFit Core foundational course, which includes SUP fundamentals, water safety, rescue practices, SUP technique training and coaching and prepares coaches to conduct on-water coaching. Those who have completed Core can progress to PaddleFit Pro, concentrating on progressive SUP coaching methods, advanced paddling techniques, training programs and designing individual plans based on client needs and ability.

PaddleFit Core Coach Bill Ennis says: “The PaddleFit certification was one of the best things we did last year for our business. It’s so nice to be able to say we’ve had some training. It makes for increased perceived value on the customer’s end, and helps us differentiate ourselves.”

PaddleFit offers participants:

  • A system-based approach to SUP coaching and training
  • Expert SUP coaching tailored to everyone from beginners to athletes
  • Experienced coaches who assess each participant and set up a tailored training plan
  • Race-focused and offseason training
