What’s the tale that inspired the “Battle for Hercules”?

The intriguing name “Battle for Hercules” was inspired by the legendary story of Hercules and the strait that separates Morocco from Spain. It traces back to the first edition of the event in Ceuta, where the myth of Hercules—known for his incredible strength and bravery—served as our muse. This legendary figure is celebrated for creating the Strait of Gibraltar, uniting the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea and symbolizing the power of human will and unity. The event name echoes this historic feat, inviting participants to partake in a race that is as much about overcoming challenges as it is about connecting cultures and communities.
