Been away from reading NCKA ... just now seeing this.  I have a PVC pipe cut to the right length to reach the drive slot in my Hobies.  Now I just go with the flow.   :smt044.  As an added extra I put the CDFW fish measuring sticker on it.   :smt004

Don’t worry about a little yellow on the yak.   Lots of water to use wash off.

I miss pmmpete.  RIP.

He had the most informative posts I've ever seen anywhere. People will be reading them as long as there are people kayak fishing.

Of course, he also posted on lots of other topics too. In fact, just yesterday, I saw dead turkey along the road near my house, and I swear that the first thing I thought of was a post by pmmpete about roadkill...
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

For some reason, fishing in the cold - particularly salt water fishing, produces way more liquid out of my body than goes in. Not sure if it is some sort of osmosis from dipping the hands or feet in the water.  It's partly nerves, but seems to be mostly a volume-produced thing.
Anyway, I always kneel over the Hobie drive hole. This can be challenging in rougher conditions, especially with a 45 lb dog moving back and forth at the rear of the yak. I'm pretty sure if I ever fall overboard, it will be during this maneuver.
