Saskatchewan Parks Delays 2020 Camping Season

Saskatchewan Parks Delays 2020 Camping Season

Saskatchewan Parks who normally opens up camping reservations the first week of April, has delayed opening due to COVID-19. The regular staggered launch will still occur, and Saskatchewan Parks will give campers sufficient notice regarding revised campsite reservation dates in order to ensure ample time for planning.

As of Monday, March 23, 2020, the following parks facilities are closed:

  • Entry kiosks

  • Visitor centres

  • Historic buildings

  • Campgrounds and campsites

  • Washrooms and shower buildings

  • Day-use areas

  • Boat launches

We didn’t want to choose dates and then have to change those as well. The bulk of our reservations are often made during that reservation launch, and we also knew the public right now probably doesn’t have a great idea of what their summer vacation schedules will look like, or if they’ll take summer vacations, or if they’ll feel comfortable going. So we thought by delaying right now, hopefully everybody will have a little bit more predictability in a few or several weeks.
