Since this thing is blowing up at a breakneck exponential pace, we are going to know people who has it. Maybe you have it. This thread is to keep people in thoughts and prayers, prayer chain if you are into that, and to help people who are stricken however we can.

There’s other threads for discussing economics and politics it is my hope that this thread is limited to who we can pray for and who we can help.

My friend's wife got it in Davenport
He reported her having all the symptoms for the entire 2-plus weeks
He made it clear it is not worth catching

She is almost fully recovered now
He reports no symptoms himself as of Thursday

My thoughts are with everyone affected.

If you know anyone in California who needs assistance during this time, the California assistance hotline is 833-544-2374.

So far, no folks in our circle have it. We as a family are praying for those that have it. Practicing all the avoidance methods. Watch over your groups. Stay in contact. Worried about my mom... Thanks to all the care givers and praying for them....
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

A good friend of mine’s dad and uncle both have it, and both have progressed to pneumonia. Both are on ventilators at a hospital in Florida, fighting for their lives - without family support.

Really hard to comprehend what their whole family is going through right now...

My cousin's other grandfather pasted away 2 weeks ago. He was one of the people in the infected nursing home in Burligame, but he also had underlying health issues. When I heard about it, it definitely hit home.

Older men seem to have a higher mortality when they are alone in the hospital, isolated from family and friends

Being on a ventilator doesn’t necessarily mean being unconscious, sedation can be managed so that a person is awake enough to know what’s going on but isn’t in pain

We have a huge problem where I work right now because families have to be limited visiting their seriously ill kids

FaceTime has become invaluable, they even have stands to hold an iPad in front of their faces so family can keep up the social contact

If the hospital doesn’t supply the devices maybe family can get something to them

Most hospitals would have humane policies about that kind of thing

My daughter was one of the early ones fully recovered.
My nephew is hospitalized with it now, he was in a nursing home recovering from pneumonia.  His chances are slim at best it will take a miracle. His nurses did not practice social distancing,  they both tasted positive before him.

Couple of coworkers have and had it.  Both are on the mend now.  I was under quarantine for the two weeks, but passed through ok, same with the fam. In both cases i didn't find out until deep into the two week window.
Crazy times.

A kayak angler I know who is working in Colorado developed some kind of crud which has some of the symptoms of the virus whose name must not be spoken, but isn't sick enough to require hospitalization. He got tested, and the test came back negative.  He said "That's the first time I was glad to fail a test." But I think he has it backwards.  Since he isn't sick enough to be hospitalized, he should have hoped that the test came back positive, because that would mean that he will end up being immune to COVID-19 without getting very sick.  Since the test came back negative, he still has to worry about getting COVID-19, and if he gets it, he may get it at a time when the medical system is swamped.

My brother, who lives in Seattle, has some kind of crud which has some of the symptoms of COVID-19, but he isn't sick enough to be hospitalized, and he isn't sick enough to get tested. He's toughing it out at home, but doesn't know whether he's going to end up being immune after he gets better.

Our daughter had 101deg. temp and a lingering dry cough for a week - but we were refused testing over the phone.

I had a small cough for a few days following that episode - feel good enough now.

A newbie kayak fisher, and cycling buddy is recovering now from a positive test, he never had a fever, but scored a test as he is asthmatic.

My point - we may never actually know without easily available testing.

This seems like the biggest failure in the situation IMO
